Results of the astrovisit

Despite the severe cold and piercing wind, a meeting of amateur astronomers of the Orion club took place on Mount Goryun on September 21. The most persistent astronomy lovers gathered in the middle of the week to admire the perfect black starry sky.

Lectures and stories:

  • The main directions of modern astronomy, its prospects and the latest scientific discoveries were touched upon.
  • The discussion of the state of astronomy in Russia aroused keen interest among the participants.

Observations:

  • The powerful computerized 200 mm telescope allowed us to see the brightest objects in the Messier catalog:
  • Open star clusters.
  • Planetary nebulae.
  • Galaxies.
  • Double stars and other interesting astronomical objects.

Special moments:

  • The camera connected to the telescope allowed us to take high-quality pictures of objects located at a distance of 25 light years to 2.5 million light years!
  • The participants were able to look into the past, seeing these objects as they were many centuries ago.

Acknowledgments:

  • A huge thank you to all the participants for their active participation and interest in astronomy!
