Results of the astrovisit

On July 28, 2017 more than 50 people gathered on Mount Goryun to spend the night under the starry sky.

Lectures and stories:

  • Orenburg Planetarium lecturer Lyudmila Dmitrievna gave a fascinating lecture on the life cycles of stars, nebulae and constellations of the northern sky, as well as the legends associated with them.
  • Sergey Medvedev spoke about the types of galaxies, clusters, superclusters and the structure of the Universe, its beginning and possible end.
  • Misha Perevalov reviewed the telescopes, explained their structure and operating principle.

Observations:

  • Participants observed the setting Moon, saw many craters on its surface.
  • Saturn appeared in all its glory: the rings, the Cassini gap, the stripes on the disk and the satellite Titan were clearly visible.
  • Double stars, star clusters and the Andromeda galaxy were also observed through the telescopes.

Astrophotography master class:

  • Everyone was able to attach their cameras to the Dob 10" SynScan telescope and take photos of deep space objects.
